Thank god it’s over….Jury Duty
Today ended my civic duty and the case has been settled. Thank god! It could have been a very long 4 weeks if this continued on. I had names for some of the lawyers..one I called “Beady Eyes”. Up close, although they were beady, they actually very nice. One lawyer seriously needed a hot oil treatment. His hair was like straw. Everyday, some of the jurors and I would wait to see what the female lawyer was going to wear. Things were continually going through this sick mind of mine. I did actually pay attention when the case was going on. They did explain why they asked the 3 questions (name 2 people you admire most, 2 people you admire the least and what was your first your reaction when you heard what this case was about) Apparently it is a probing technique to get to know people. After my answers, I could have sworn they would excuse me. Question #1: 2 people you admire the most that are not family or religious figures? After looking around puzzled, I just answered “I can’t think of anyone, I guess I don’t like anybody right now.” Although they chuckled, they kept me. Question #2: 2 people you admire the least. Again, looking around puzzled, I said “I guess Adolf Hitler because he killed 6 million jews and Osama Bin Laden cause he is bad”. Still there. Question #3: What was your first reaction when you heard what the case was about? I leaned on the bench and said “Even in jury duty I can’t get away from healthcare”. Yup, still kept me. Although, they all laughed out loud when I said that. I guess I was comic relief. So now, it is all over and now I am back to reality.
